Rural terminals can and do get away with ignoring scale guidelines for successful contractors. Hundreds of rural contractors operate profitably every year. The fact remains it’s cheaper per unit to maintain multiple trucks than only one. You could have passed those savings on to the drivers in your terminal. Instead you sucked them in to a deal you thought was terrible so you wouldn’t have to work as hard.</blockquote>
