We could be over there cracking skulls and they could still be setting off a dirty bomb in NYC. We were over there for 20 years to not win but to drag things out and make defense contractors a lot of money. We could have obliterated the Taliban at any time and didn't. Notice yesterday's bombing was the biggest loss of American military lives in ten years. That's because our military wasn't engaging the Taliban for much of that time. The Afghan Army was with our air support. The focus should be why did we pull air support and then watch the Taliban proceed to take over the country? Why did we pull our military completely out and leave all that equipment and all those Americans and allies? That allowed the Taliban to march into Kabul and made it extremely difficult for Americans to evacuate. Our government met with Taliban leadership in Doha, Qatar shortly before all this took place. What was conceded in that meeting? We don't need to stay now to prove no little country is going to push us around. We needed to take care of business and get out 15,16,17 years ago. And left no uncertainty as to what happens when you mess with the U.S. But it was a golden opportunity to line a lot of pockets and it got good people killed and maimed doing so. Let's take care of our military personnel first, not our politicians campaign coffers or fatcat military contractors.
