Teamster Buyout?

I know of three drivers I used to work with that have already accepted the buy out. Seems like a no brainer if they were already going to retire in the next six months. Take the money and run.

We have one that was retiring this fall, and about 10 that were going to retire after peak.

That is 11 out of about 200 here taking the buyout.

And 2017, 70 hour change nationwide. 2025 could set itself up for several circumstantial similarities but there were no PVDs then and they have improved forecasting since then. Overall, I’m not seeing it, but at certain buildings absolutely.

I seriously doubt we will be missing over 2 million packages like 2013. Again if it reaches that level of failure it completely vindicates the union but that’s the last thing the company wants is vindicating the union so very unlikely.

There's other places where they use the language "in good standing" but you can find that one yourself... Lol.

I would guess not. Better to take the buy out than earn the income the old fashioned way filing excess hours grievances.

Mine couldn’t have gone smoother
Sent my papers in 90 days before my retirement date. Retired at the end of the month got a check the next day.

Excellent. Should be everybody’s experience. Minus screws up on the retiree’s part it should be dummy proof.

There is a driver in Palatine that just retired. He signed his retirement paperwork literally the day before UPS announced this DVSP.

Granted, he would have had to work another 2 or 3 months and not be retired for the summer, but that has to sting.

$50K after taxes. Ouch.

I think it’s confusing because the mind is trained to break it down like the contractual pension, seniority classification, and vacation pay payments..
