Tell me if this idea holds any weight...

I've heard this idea floated in my center recently by more than one longtime driver.

Amazon buys UPS. I sure hope not. Do they have the capital to pull that move off? That would be a disaster.
  2. They are worth several times what UPS is worth.

Why do you think that it would be a disaster?

It would never happen as Jeff Bezos does not have the funds for a hostile takeover of a Fortune 500 company.

Corporate UPS sold out before (going public) so don't think for a second they wouldn't at least consider the possibility of selling us off. I'm sure the stockholders would if they thought their quarterly dividends would increase. I would rather see UPS buy Amazon but that'll never happen.
  5. And only class B shares are on the market.

Agree. There is no way Bezos is paying us $35.00 an hour to hump cardboard

Because of the way the shares are set up it would be nearly impossible for the public to take controlling interest in the company

That's a new twist---rather than buy the whole company, would they instead just go after our operating companies?

    What does that mean?
  10. Class B only have one vote. Class A has 10 votes.

    Please explain what that means.

What they're worth and what they have are two different things.

They could not pull this off and stay afloat. They don't have the capital.

    And ups wouldn't sell.

No. Bezos doesn't have the liquid cash too. He's have to leverage Amazon and rack even more debt then he does now.

Ups board would not let Bezos take control of any aspect of ups.

    He knows this.

That's why he wants the PO to be privatized so he can buy it cheap from the government
  16. I believe UPS is worth a lot more than their current market value
Look how much property , trucks and planes that they own.

UPS has a lot of real value in equipment and property. Most of the tech companies are floating on promises and dreams.

  18. Plus landing rights and all if the other things they own.

It is. Ups is very conservative with their debt to asset ratio. Amazon is not. They borrow and borrow to expand.
  20. I wish UPS would spend some money on upgrading our capacity.
