Terminated ..

..my coworker was terminated last week. ..for not showing up..the thing is i was there when he was told by one of the supervisors to come in on Saturday only..we are both under 2year Tcd's. .
He did that for 2 weeks and drove for a ride share company in mean time as well..
He call the supervisor back and ask if he is suppose to just keep doing Saturdays..
Keep in mind no one has called him in two weeks..the center manager takes over call told him he is terminated for no show. .

This is some BS ..I have known this guy since day one of training..he has never missed a day ..isn't there a step by step process before termination. ..or are these guys trying to cover their ass or what...any opinion or help would be very helpful. .

The new center manager probabaly said something about job abandonment. Tell him to get in touch with his BA and let them know you were witness to the conversation and are willing to write out a statement as such.

Good luck

Not that I have seen...we work in same hub ..but for different centers..that sup told him to come in on Saturday only for next two weeks ..I dunno ..I just think something can be done ..he Gonna talk to union Monday see what they say I guess

Take a deep breath and try again to explain.
It appears he was fired by center manager in uncertain circumstances.
Tell him to file a grieve ASAP!

Yes I agree ..he really upset over it ..Im pissed he my friend he works his ass off..to have thus happen is scary ...gonna find out how the union works now. I guess.

They can't just fire him over the phone. A union rep must be present. Tell him not to wait. Call or go to the union hall first thing Monday morning and have this taken care of ASAP.

capitalism centralizes decision making in few peoples hands. these few people usually look out for their best interests at the expense of the majority's interests. so the result is you have unjustifiable stuff like this happening.

also you should check out whats being said about precarious contract jobs like Uber.

There....a place.
Their.....it belongs to them.
They're....a contraction of the words "they" and "are".

Example: They're glad their packages are over there.

Hope this helps.

Good lord , do you turn everything into the never ending battle between Capitalism and Socialism.

Good god man, his buddy will be fired if he writes out a statement!
Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. How would him being a third party to a conversation where the supervisor told the terminated employee to "only show up Saturday's" be detrimental to his case?
