The word spread by word of mouth from a community that was pretty tightknit just to survive. It’s no surprise the Haitians congregated there, really. It’s not a conspiracy. They did nothing illegal. The employers say they’re some of the best workers. But yes, it’s disruptive to the native population. It was a matter of time before people blew up in anger.
