from what I saw most of the negative posts to brown bailout never the saw the light of day. I would think it will be worse on this one.

this site is a terrific marketing idea. Not only does the public see a bunch of happy fdx employees delivering the purple dream but fdx employees see the same. the positive spin will also market itselfs effectively to other fdx employees. A little positive brainwashing for the masses.

So should UPS do the same?

yea. they kinda do on upsers.com like jones said. But a public one i think is a great marketing tool. Hey look at over 9 he's a great guy who really wants to deliver your package. Hmm that sounds like a promo for a porn movie.

you sell the message that we have great people who believe in service by showing the actual people.

Just telling it like it is
already have. you want fdx to unionize there has to be a strong demand from the employees demanding unionization. I don't see. I think upsers and the teamsters want fdx to be organized more then actual fdx employees do.

this latest site is another clever little scam by Fred S that will put a positive spin on fdx's relationship with its employees. Fred is fighting unionization with some clever and very effective tactics.

We've been under the straightjacket of the RLA for so long that the prospect of unionization was not very realistic.

Takes awhile for people to wake up and smell the coffee, but for sure it's brewing as we speak.

Yep, it's a good effort. I think most employees will reject it, but we have plenty of dumb ones who'll fall right into the trap. The public will never be the wiser.

UPS has always been late in the game, when it comes to advertising, in any form.
Yes, the standardized brown cars, uniforms and service served us well for multiple decades, with no need for UPS to advertise.
Then,
FedEx smoked us with the fast talking guy in the 80's and grabbed the public's attention.
In my view, our present problems can not be solely solved with the smoke and mirrors of advertising.
Helpful, yes, but not a long term solution to the endemic false belief that the new technology will save the day.
Our greatest threat is from within, not our public perception.
Once again, IMHO.

I am finding myself agreeing with you. Is peace in the Middle East next?
