I doubt the closing of hubs was discussed at the bargaining table last contract, Volume want nearly this low after a few years of record levels. It would have been a huge risk loss for the company to have safeguards put in place by the union on retaining employees. They are cutting everything while we are-going into a recession. Look at Fedex getting rid of their NDA guys moving it all into the ground division. Yellow freight went under the largest carrier and if you ask any freight driver out there how is business lately they will tell you never seen it this slow. UPS cut outsourced, 1-800 #, BD, sales, building maintenance, safety, trailer shops shutting down. Your going to see dispatch sups to other inside part time non hourly going. This CEO loves to outsource. Look at the India investment for the replacement of said jobs. Until the economy returns we are going to see this. Delivery centers in rural areas where combined in 2008 recession. Contract we got or not when had plans of cutting, The company will only use what's needed for employees per volume levels.
