I've noticed not a word has been said on this forum about the Million Muslim March in DC today.
Some people regard this "march" by our muslim friends as a kick in our (American's) teeth.

A biker rally is also planned to honor and remember those who died on 9/11 and in the war since then.

Maybe the topic is too sensitive.
We sure don't want to offend any of our "friends".

Moreluck brought this up in another thread that was off topic to her point. I was thinking it would be buried as a result and your post above seems to prove that point. Maybe she can repost here or get a Mod to move it for her as it fits well in this thread.

The muslim march has a permit........the motorcycle march was denied a permit.
But, it's not against the law to ride a motorcycle in D.C..........

D.C. Police estimate over 1 million bikers roar into Washington D.C., hardly a Muslim in sight

Mark Segraves of the NBC affiliate in Washington reported that only “about 25 people,” including activist Cornel West, were
at the Muslim march as of 12:30 p.m. In fact, a WND-TV news crew on the scene, preparing to provide live coverage of
the event in a webcast, has been unable to locate any of the marchers who were supposed to go from the National Mall
to the Supreme Court and the White House.

[h=4]However, the counter-protest by bikers was in evidence everywhere. Driving in from Canada and all over
the United States, the bikers, who were denied a permit for their demonstration, were flooding the capital.
[/h][h=4]At approximately 1 p.m., “2 Million Bikers to DC” Facebook page co-founder Belinda Bee posted that police
have counted nearly one million bikers are on the streets of Washington.

This display and turn out above will not be played over and over on the big four (CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC)
and have the 40 each per station "special" guest commentators expounding on it day after day.:dissapointed:

Muslim rally vastly outnumbered by bikers, counterprotesters - Washington Times

The highlight of my day was watching the videos posted on social media of about a million bikers descending on Washington DC. I hope this is a yearly occurrence at the least. I was surprised at the lack of coverage on TV today, thats why I don't pay much attention to the networks anymore. I watch the news for the weather and traffic reports in the morning, they aren't good for much else.

I was surprised in that the local news made a pretty big deal about the bikers and the 25 Muslim debacle was merely mentioned in one sentence.

As far as I know (and I very well could be wrong) all the bikers were asking for was a permit to take a certain route thru DC without having to stop at red lights and stop signs so that they could get their rememberance ride for 9/11 over as quick and orderly as possible without causing big traffic tie-ups. A "no stopping" ride would have worked out better in the long run. DC must be used to it with all the "big wigs" getting escorted around non-stop everyday. The video I saw showed one big gigantic traffic jam because of DC's stupidity

I don't read every post in every thread so it's possible I missed Moreluck's earlier post about the bike rally. Sorry.

No need to be sorry. Not your fault as I don't read every post or thread either. Where it was posted was just so OT that I can see why so few would see it.
