Our constitution is written to slow down or prevent mobocracy.  the concern i would have is when a party or side tries to maintain that divide or even create more of a divide. the problem with the divide in todays world is it has become much more personal.  in the old days terms like big spender were used to define an opponent. in todays world everyone who disagrees with a dems position is a racist.  every liberal position is somehow intertwined into an argument against racism. If I am against environmental extreme's then somehow or someway I will be accused of racism. I think at some point this style of debate will filter out but i dont know if we can return to a more civil style of debate.</blockquote>
