Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 5589372" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>Putin easily took Crimea which I think gave him a false sense of confidence on how invading the rest of Ukraine would go.  If you're familiar you know the Soviets invaded Finland right before WWII and got their asses handed to them.  The Finns had a plan and executed it well against a much larger invading force.  With the fighting in the Donbas and after the taking of Crimea I think the Ukrainians knew they had to come up with strategies to repel an eventual Russian invasion.  Keeping Ukraine out of NATO was a pretext.  But no matter.  We're playing a very dangerous game of chicken with a nuclear power.</p></blockquote><p></p>
