Ok, to start, I'm unsure where you're getting that being a democrat or someone who leans left, means that you're in favor of up ending our capitalist society and for the institution of socialism. That's a big leap, chief. That aside, we in America have many socialist programs already in existence, and they're among the most beloved by everyday Americans because of the security/safety net these programs provide them. They don't need to rely on them, but they're there to supplement people or provide a bare minimum standard if you do find you need to rely on them. Conservatives have got to try to remember that social programs aren't for the people who are doing well in life, they are for the less fortunate among us, and those who for whatever reason can't provide for themselves, and stop being selfish about your tax money. It's all I :censored:ing hear about - They don't pay their fair share! They're lazy! Why should I bust my ass? Here's a clue, they will figure out a way to continue spending tax money hand over fist on wasteful military nonsense, whether we fund these social welfare programs or not, so your taxes are never dropping in any meaningful sense, regardless. Maybe try to be happy that you have a good career, a bit of financial freedom, and not worry about whether somebody else is receiving something for nothing. They aren't getting wealthy off of gov't subsidy, they're just surviving. Would we still be able to call ourselves the greatest country in the world, with a straight face, if we tossed aside our weakest and poorest citizens, so that those of us already making a good living could save a few bucks in taxes per year? I don't think so. Maybe you do. Your party does support Donald Trump. So anything is possible, when it comes to deluding yourselves.
