Today FDX stock dropped more than 8% as a significant slow down if not an out right recession appears inescapable. Now in light of today's action and strictly focusing on FDX and not the politics of the moment what changing operational tools do you think they have left in their toolbox or could it be that there's really nothing that they can do?

Push the Ground model cut back Express, of course no layoffs just reduce hours and harass older employees to leave. Also Amazon is offering $10.00 off on an order if you pick it up at a nearby store potentially a huge money saver.

We were told they are getting back to excellent service again at express. That’s the focus for the new CEO coming in. That’s what the company was built on and needs to gain the trust of the customer.

If you no longer work at Fedex and no longer own stock in the company, what difference does it make to you.

If there is any major push I think it would be to cut back to the greatest extent possible the use of costly contingency contractors. If any routes are left open and abandoned they'll resort to what they've done in the past. Take the routes and hand them to the nearest contractor and simply say....."they're yours now pal "!

Say goodbye to any pay step raises this October. Back to FedEx's 20+ year top out program.
15 yrs... step 5... yup right on pace for 20 years. We're 13 drivers short, Three 2 week notices turned in this week, one last week... 3 of them 13+yr employees, taking new hire positions elsewhere making 10-15k more a year... it's a great time to find a new job.

They’re trying that. People aren’t biting. They’ll literally walk away before taking on more crap.

Amazon has done it again they are starting in rural areas to ship ready packages to small businesses and having them deliver them. Example florists and auto parts dealers who already use delivery vehicles, if it works why not do it all over.

We had a guy leave. He was going to school on the weekend for his Class A. His new job will have him home every night and will gross over 100,000 a year. It's harder work but he's still young so good for him.
