The Union Sitting on Its Hands

A good, united Union knows this is the time to demand pay increases. The Union has UPS by the proverbial balls. A calling out sick strike is a great idea. If the Union wants to play hard ball. Now is the time. A work stoppage would immediately effect the economy worldwide. The President would get involved. Step up Union. You get a big fat friend so far!

UPS just announced a $1B shortfall that will result in postponed capital improvement projects and canceled stock buybacks. And you think that this is the ideal time to try to squeeze them for more money?

You are kidding aren't you? The time to play hardball was last contract and you blew it.

This is absolutely the time. I don’t want to hear how some billion dollar company is struggling. If they’re struggling, one would have to assume the employees are struggling.

The union just handed the company cheaper full time drivers when we had more leverage than we’d had in years.

When revenues are up and drivers are being asked to do more work than every. lol that would be rich.
Revenues may be up but profits are down. Business deliveries are way off and could stay that way for quite a while. Eventually people will start to tighten their belts and then residential deliveries will fall.

When coal miners striked during winter they had America by the balls to. Turns out America didn’t appreciate coal shortages during the winter and the union lost public sympathy for their strike.

Do you really think a lot of unemployed people not able to leave their homes are going to have sympathy for people out there making $10,000+ a month walking off the job that provides people with their medications, ppe and everything else? Americans have shunned unions for less.

Comparing coal mine and UPS, SILLY. The average check of a UPS worker isn’t $2,500 a week. You don’t make that either.
