Startup wants to put self-driving big rigs on US highways
anyone who drives feeders knows the limitations on current technology. our lane sensors and automatic braking freak out all the time. its unreliable and is a long way from replacing the driver.
They crash more than you think.
I drove a truck for a short time and I would worry about how the truck could respond to the stupid things car drivers do around trucks. You don't realize how frequently they happen until you're sitting up in that cab.
You ever run into old toad beech while you were out on the road
Lol. Nope. Didn't do it long enough nor go to strip clubs in Reno.
No different than a human would react and actually probably quicker and more consistently.
True, but for a human to get into an accident is forgiveable by most people. Human error.
But if an autonomous vehicle gets into an accident, irregardless of fault, most people won't be as forgiving and will push for a ban on them.
It'll be a tricky transition but if the government wants it it'll happen.
It's this that scares me much more than drones or amazon.
Gonna put the lot lizards and tunnel bunnies right out of business...
What is a tunnel bunny?
A hooker that hangs out on the Jersey side of the Lincoln tunnel...
So they just stand there waiting for customers like they would on a corner?
Oh please, don't act like you knew what it was. I live near two cities with tunnels and we don't have such a thing.
I had a pretty good idea.
Although I figured tunnel meant subway.
I had a pretty good idea too, but wanted to be sure. The idea of standing at a tunnel opening would give me serious heeby jeebies. Lol.
That's why I stopped dating your mom!
Im sure you know what I mean by tunnel. Sorry couldn't help it.
