Every time we get a tire replaced on route the tire guy is surprised we run re-treads on the front. I guess he assumes we always put safety first.

Per DOT any commercial vehicle that is used for the purpose of pulling a trailer, Must have virgin tires as steer tires. now the exception to this is if the vehcile is on area and has a flat a retread may be used to get vehicle back to it's home hub.
