Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 5242042" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>Russia was hoarding gold for some time before invading.  They're now backing their Ruble with gold.  And in spite of being kicked off the international banking and credit systems it appears they had already developed workarounds.  They put a lot of thought into the what if's and it appears the sanctions aren't nearly as effective now as was touted.  And it's likely the U.S. Dollar may suffer for it.  Russia is selling oil and not accepting Dollars for it.  Saudi Arabia, which was the original country to sell their oil in U.S. Dollars only, the start of the Petro dollar, is now accepting Chinese Yuan for some of its oil.  The dam is developing cracks.</p></blockquote><p></p>
