Unhappy drivers could undermine UPS's push to compete with Amazon on the weekend - Business Insider
  • UPS has spent five years rolling out Saturday service, but its approach is frustrating some drivers.
  • Weekends could be a point of contention in the company's upcoming negotiations with the Teamsters.
  • Offering Saturday deliveries is key to keeping pace with Amazon and the gig economy.
On a Saturday in October, a group of UPS drivers in Columbus, Ohio, protested a push to work weekends in a novel way: they all showed up to work, as requested.

In the past few years, UPS (along with FedEx) has broken away from its traditional Monday to Friday schedule to make deliveries on weekends. The goal is to keep up with gig economy services — and Amazon — which deliver nearly 24/7. "That's become the new normal," Morgan Stanley analyst Ravi Shanker told Insider. "I think everybody in the space needs to keep pace with that or they will risk losing share."

Because the company made a bad plan.
Now Saturdays and Mondays are both crappy days to work.
They force a lot of lower guys to work 6 days a week and they pull some of Monday's work to Saturdays And try to use the cheaper Saturday labor to screw us on Mondays

Do you need an air compressor or tire gauge
