Well it's perspective I guess. I do a downtown run full of bike messengers. These guys look "rough" with their piercings, tattoos, and dress, but all the receptionists (varying from the middle-aged soccer moms, the daft 30-somethings, and the bombshell 20-somethings) LOVE these guys and they treat them like gold. They offer them water, coffee, ask them about their day, and they talk about various stuff if there's ever a second to spare. And although these guys look rough, they're really nice and considerate to their clients. You know why they're so loved? The actual service. The receptionist picks up the phone, a friendly bike messenger (who TRULY WANTS their business-they're getting paid piecework) shows up in under 10 minutes, and their bank run is done within the hour. The dreadlocks, tattoos, piercings have no effect. These offices want the job done right, and they don't care about what decorations are on that guy's body. All they ask is that the guy is nice and he does what they need. This is my perspective into it, based on my white-collar downtown loop. Btw, I find all the guys with crazy piercings are the nicest. It's sad that the 6'1'' white buzz-cut UPS driver image is no longer reality and our workforce is becoming more socially and racially diverse? :dots:
