Nothing to see here.... Move along.
Has anyone been forced to drive unsafe trucks?

I had one once that if you got it up to highway speeds, the front tires would lift off from the road.
That was a fun one to drive, much better than the one that had its steering column catch on fire.
Or the Ford Air Vans that developed vapor lock on really hot days.

Honestly no and management respect it when you stand by the standards set by the company and insist upon having proper equipment.
They might test you a couple times but stick to your guns if you find something wrong with your vehicle during your pretrip.

I’ve reloaded package cars many time in my career only to watch some new guy come and take the truck that wasn’t road worthy out at management behest.

Once you take that vehicle out on the road it’s on you, keep the ball in their court.
Yep. It's not hard to enforce ... except for the suckasses who always get ansy about "late air" and "their customers" ... You don't gotta be a "tough guy"; you just have to stand your ground.
