UPS Acquires Pharmacy License As Amazon Move Looms - Investors Business Daily

United Parcel Service (UPS) acquired a pharmacy license in Georgia in a move that could broaden its business into not only shipping but relabeling drugs, CNBC reported.

UPS confirmed the move, saying the license is tied to "new and potential business engagements" handled out of its Duluth, Ga., facility.

It's not clear how strategically significant the move might be for UPS at a time when the company faces uncertainty as Amazon.com (AMZN), a major customer, tests its own final-mile delivery service, which could be a negative both for shipping rates and volume.

Gives a whole new meaning to the term mail order pharmacy. The money to be made off this will make Amazon look like a mom and pop store.

...until Amazon starts up their own version.....they are looking to buy the remaining Rite Aid stores....they don't want the stores themselves....they want their state pharmacy licenses....67% of Prime members have indicated that they would prefer to get their scripts filled online...@Future do you see how posting like this can be really annoying...

Amazon is going to split their current setup in to two separate entities......retail and cloud services....conservative estimates put their combined separate values at $1T...more than double their current $500B value...

UPS will have a bigger profit margin. I feel like we're starting another tech boom!
