ABC7's John Gonzalez's first job was when he was a junior in high school stocking the inside of UPS trucks in Laurel, Maryland and it would get hot inside those trucks.

Now, there is a petition Friday garnering a lot of attention and picking up steam calling on UPS to add air conditioning inside the popular brown trucks.

A lot of people don’t realize that these drivers are going around from delivery to delivery, and they do not have air conditioning in the vehicles.

back in the old days we had to bring our own water in......that was pre-entitlement era.....also salt tablets..........things worked best when we took our own responsibilities ......no complaining........things have changed post 1999

The current generation of drivers, 5 yrs or less are wimps. You signed up to work, you know the conditions, you make damn good money, get great Healthcare, and pension..... stop the whining! If don't like the job....leave. it's that simple. There are people lined up to take your place.

Many are overweight. You didn't see many fatso's back in the day. Being heavy like that makes it harder to work in the heat.
