Consideration Demonstrates Bipartisan Commitment To Create Jobs, Improve Economy Through Exports

UPS (NYSE: UPS) applauds congressional leadership and the Obama administration for reaching a compromise and moving to pass the pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea.

The Obama administration's presentation of the free trade agreements to Congress this week is a positive sign that the president and congressional leadership have reached a compromise that will allow shippers to realize the many benefits of international free trade. UPS applauds national leaders for overcoming the impasse on the trade agreements and taking this critical step toward doubling American exports by 2015.

"I am encouraged that both the President and congressional leaders have reached a compromise," said Scott Davis, UPS's chairman and CEO and a member of the President's Export Council. "By giving American businesses greater access to the 95 percent of consumers who live outside the United States, these agreements will increase exports and create jobs at home."

UPS, as the world's largest package delivery company, has long been committed to breaking down barriers and encouraging the economic growth and jobs that come with increased trade.
