UPS CFO: Co To Hire 50,000 US Temp Workers For Holidays - Smart Money
United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) plans to hire about 50,000 temporary U.S. workers for the holidays, down from some previous years but still evidence it's preparing for a boost in consumer spending during the traditional peak shipping season.
UPS hired about 60,000 temporary workers in 2007 to help with the peak season between Thanksgiving and the end of the year. The package-delivery giant didn't release the figure for last year.
