With fight or flight running through his mind, Matthew Danek threw caution to the wind, jumped out of his truck and came to the aid of a woman being assaulted in a Flemington parking lot.
While driving his package delivery route, the UPS driver spotted trouble at 11:53 a.m. Jan. 13, and put himself in jeopardy to help someone he didn’t know. Danek pulled the man away from the woman, allowing her to get away and himself then becoming the target of the assault.
Flemington Police Chief Jerry Rotella said, “he didn’t just call 911 and hope it would be taken care of, he took action.”
