UPS driver returns to double boots; city just gets hoots - News Observer

United Parcel Service delivery driver James Riley pulled his brown box truck in front of the "No Parking Any Time" sign late Thursday morning, hurried into downtown's Raleigh Building and took an elevator up to deliver some packages.

As he stepped off the elevator back at street level, a woman sounded the alarm.

"Sir! Sir!" the woman cried. "They're booting your vehicle!"

We are not above the law. The driver knowingly parked in front of a "No Parking Any Time" sign as he was going to "be just a few minutes". Once the boot is put on the only way it is taken off is if the tickets are paid or a payment plan is set up. Once the parking authority gets confirmation they will send someone out to remove the boot(s).
