Just a heads up for all the new drivers (and some of the old)...
Here is some very good advice compiled together in the form of a survivor's guide to UPS:
https://web.archive.org/web/2013102...rslocal340.org/graphics/UPSsurviors-guide.pdf

A little of it is outdated such as keeping a notebook (a phone documents much better along with pictures) And mine comes with OneNote which syncs with my computer and produces a searchable data base. I document everything!

But the guide really has a lot of sage advice.

Compare the ups driver wage vs any non union wage you can find. Sorry. You lose. Teamsters are still strongest union in USA. Move on troll

Johnnyfootball2014 what is anti-teamsters about his advice:

-Become involved in your Union, help your steward, listen to your BA.
-Go to the Union meetings
-Demand a steward when questioned by management
-Demand to be treated with respect by management
-Don't work off the clock
-Don't lie, and let your steward/BA know how you will be answering questions at a disciplinary hearing.
-Do nothing dishonest or illegal even if asked to do so by management.
-Keep records of all interactions with management/document everything
-Don't falsify delivery records even if told to do so by management
-Don't take anything that is not yours, not even a pen
-Don't forge signatures
-Don't open packages
-Don't steal time
-Stay out of customer's houses
-Don't flirt with customers
-Report all accidents no mater how small
-Refuse to drive unsafe vehicles
-Don't sign anything you disagree with
-Report all work related injuries as such
-Use your own doctor for treatment, UPS's doctor can have split loyalties

Yeah, I guess I am a troll for suggesting this stuff to new drivers o_O
