UPS driver to serve five years for groping girls at a Target store - Mercury News

Glenn Albrecht, 50, pleaded no contest to felony charges including lewd acts with a child under 14 and possession of child pornography, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said. The delivery driver will be sentenced for the crime Aug. 14 and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Albrecht was arrested Aug. 26, 2012, after he grabbed the buttocks of a 6-year-old girl after she wandered one aisle away from her parents in the Target store at the Shops at Tanforan, Wagstaffe said. Though he left after the incident, he came back minutes later and was hit by the girl's father after she pointed him out to her parents.

Would his profession have been mentioned if he held any other job?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read this. At first I thought they said UPS driver because he was working at the time. Maybe they decided to mention his profession to make the public aware since he is out in the community on a regular basis. I have two young girls myself and if that would've happened to one of mine there would've been more than a hit. I bet that father wanted to do much more to him. Sex offenders contribute nothing to society and should be locked up and thrown in :censored2:.

Glen wasn't even really a driver, he was a hub guy that drove air shuttles and did pickups on Saturdays. He also continued to work the Twilight while his trial was pending (they didn't let him back on the road). Good riddance, I don't know how that :censored2:ing creep could show his face at work after that.

I also wondered how his profession was put into the headline? Very poor journalism skills.
