UPS driver who called 911 in house fire is honored - ABC Newspapers
April 16 started as a typical work day for Dave Marquis. But that changed when the UPS driver of 25 years saw an orange glow and what he thought were flames inside a Spring Lake Park home.
Marquis did what he thinks anyone would do. He called 911.
Nyle Zikmund, chief of the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department, credits Marquis with saving a woman’s life. Although he did not pull her out of the burning home, quickly calling 911 made a difference, Zikmund said.
