Sure seems like they are stomping us in the ground...We have no freight and UPS just keep booming. When does Fred and the boys start to take freight, just to have freight, and not worry bout margins? We have 40,000 employees at express with something to do, just not enough to do!!! They will tell you get sales leads lol lol lol whatever they need to get the accts.. They have the power to cut deals. Was told 15 years ago express would be a" niche" company lol. Think the upper crust would like to cut all routes just so ground could have the business so their "margins look good"..Its seriously has gotten to be a joke at express...Where do they find these managers?????? lol lol lol Thoughts? Oh p.s. wouldn't it be great they would buy us 20 year+ employees out?

Got more freight than we can handle. Never has let up since peak. I took the last 2 weeks of the fiscal year off and already worked 1 day making double time and half and they called today wanting me to work 1 day next week. Freight is the least of our problems. Must be isolated to certain areas.

Taking freight for the sake of the freight and no chance of making money is a bad move. We did that years ago and I believe the bean counters realized we need to charge enough to make a buck. When we are only making 6% or so as it is with Express, you can't give the store away.

The perils of extrapolation.

A station /terminal serves the economy of that local area. One station can be doing terrible but another 50 miles or so away is doing so well that they have to ask the slow terminal for personnel to come help out. On several occasions we were the donor terminal You can't make a judgement on just one station but here's something that might be a key indicator of things to come. Last week several major banks reported that their credit card divisions incurred an increase in credit card defaults. It's a consumption based economy and company and this indicator may be a sign of a slowing economy which post a first quarter GDP growth rate of 0.70% annualized. Watch and see what the Fed does in the coming weeks.

They will do nothing and keep the bs flying. Was reading on one of the Feds and they said due to uncertain economic situations they don't see another rate raise any time soon. All time high markets but still too shaky to do what should have been done years ago. Just keep inflating the bubble larger and larger.

The general rule is that markets trade on the basis of expected EPS 6-10 months down the road but the expectation this time around is based more on tax cuts and repatriation off shore cash which now appears to be less likely or a much more modest level of reduction.

What does the quarterly reports state? No reason to judge based on a single station, unless that is how you are reporting it, when we have official data. Is it up? Down? Flat? Go see.

Busier than ever, planes late as always, and 20% of our station has been fired or transferred since the beginning of the year, 60hrs a week for everyone.
