UPS employees might be busy writing letters to their U.S. senators on behalf employer

Currently, Federal Express's labor relations are governed by the Railway Labor Act. If the company is reclassified, it will be governed by the National Labor Relations Act. Among other things, the change would allow most FedEx workers to form local unions instead of being able to form only a national union.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-family: 'Courier New'">Local unions play a valuable role in protecting workers in the workplace, securing health benefits that are crucial to American families, and helping companies develop and maintain a highly skilled workforce. Reclassifying FedEx will help level the playing field, placing all shipping companies under the same <span style="color: #000">labor laws</span> and allowing workers to organize and stand together to secure needed workplace rights and benefits at the local level.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Courier New'">The House-passed version of the FAA reauthorization has been referred to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
