My friend who has been a UPS driver for 8 years said that he just got an email from his center manager saying that he will probably have to work Christmas day, because of the backup of packages into St.Louis. Some of my amazon orders have been delayed because there was not enough capacity to get them from Kentucky to STL. They also are being ordered to work late Christmas Eve. Underpaid Package Slaves (UPS).

They cannot force but they can ask for volunteers. A feeder driver I know volunteered to work on Thanksgiving Day for triple time...as well as Black Friday.

I don't think anybody is going to have to be ordered to work late. They're going to be blown out just like normal and have to work late.

I would work Christmas as I don't have plans. But forcing people to work it is wrong. Should be 100% volunteer.

Erm drivers don't have UPS email, and why on earth would a driver give their personal email address to a center manager? If a center manager was going to give notice of having to work on a holiday it would be to everyone affected and not via an email.
