Helping golf’s future talent succeed on the greens

After a successful inaugural campaign, UPS (NYSE: UPS) announced Bags 4 Birdies will return in 2017 to deliver more clubs to children around the world. Bags 4 Birdies is a unique program, created to help the next generation of champions make their mark on the course. For every birdie or better, UPS® golf ambassadors Lee Westwood and Louis Oosthuizen make during the four major championships, UPS will donate a bag of PING Junior Clubs to children who otherwise would not have been able to easily access and enjoy the game of golf."

This year, UPS will work closely with golf’s governing bodies across the globe to select deserving young talent in the following eight markets: North America, UK, Germany, Japan, Vietnam, China, Chile and South Africa.

“With UPS’s global network and presence in golf, we are perfectly positioned to fuel the next generation of golfers,” said Betsy Wilson, UPS Vice President of Brand and Sponsorships. “UPS is committed to inspiring our people and business partners to do their best, and Bags 4 Birdies inspires children to do their best on the course.”

With 103 sets of golf clubs delivered, the 2016 Bags 4 Birdies was an incredible success and UPS has committed to push this initiative even further in 2017. To celebrate UPS’s 110-year anniversary, UPS will commit a minimum of 110 clubs, giving even more young aspiring golfers the tools they need to succeed.

“In 2016, thanks to Bags 4 Birdies, UPS donated junior clubs to the China Golf Association. We are extremely grateful for the support as this generous gift gave more children the opportunity to learn and play golf,” said Mr. Yuan Weimin, President of China Golf Association.

The first of the four majors begins April 4th at the Masters tournament, for which UPS is an International Partner. To track Lee’s and Louis’ progress at the majors, simply search #Bags4Birdies online.
