UPS Live Safely

The Blackadder

Are you not amused?
So now we have these dumb Live Safely papers being hung up.

Really I am so sick of the BS with UPS and safety.

You want us safe, don't have has driving over 11 hours daily, sometimes 12.

Don't tell us about Orion, about the most unsafe thing UPS has come up with.
Don't jam bigger and bigger packages in our cars and tell us it doesn't effect the time study.

Don't bring in new drivers and tell them the last guy did 150 stops when the last guy really only did 130.

This company spends a billion or so a year on technology that increases stops per car. That simply equals more wear and tear on the bodies of those who drive and load these cars. The extra stress caused by all this is wreaking havoc on those of us that have to make things happen. We all have to fix mistakes caused by poorly implemented ideas that don't work as well as planned. The bottom line is that safety and health is a portion of the business that UPS hopes to increase profits by cutting down on the number of accidents and injuries.

All the safety part is so UPS can get a discount on their insurance. That's why the centers get so many allotted safety hours a month. Then they can show the insurance company how many hours they are putting into safety to get a discount.

UPS is self-insured and the reason for the safety committee, Ketter audits, and hazmat training is because UPS was dicking around with hazmat safety during the 80s/90s and the government came down on them hard.
