Christann Pojani Martin To Lead East Bay District OAKLAND, Feb. 13, 2009 - Christann Pojani Martin, a 32-year veteran of UPS (NYSE:UPS), has been named the vice president of operations for the company's East Bay District. In her new role, Martin is assuming leadership of a UPS district that was expanded significantly in a recent realignment of domestic operations. She will be responsible for almost 7,000 employees in a district that includes Oakland, Richmond, Sacramento, Stockton and surrounding California areas up to the Oregon border. The East Bay District includes more than 25 facilities, including three large sorting hubs and two air gateways. Martin most recently managed UPS's Sacramento Valley District, which included operations in the greater Sacramento area and northern Nevada. Prior to that assignment in 2003, she served as vice president of operations for the Alabama District. A native of Millbury, Mass., Martin began her UPS career in 1977 as a part-time clerk in the UPS West New England District and was promoted into full time management in 1981. She then advanced through a broad variety of assignments with increasing levels of responsibility throughout UPS domestic operations. Martin has a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Management from the University of Phoenix.
