the problem with vietnam is it has been a trade proxy of china. to measure the true trade imbalance with china you have to look at all countries that china moves thier exports through which includes vietnam.

China has certain strengths in semiconductors, manufacturing hubs, earth minerals. We have military, cloud, swift and dollar dominance.

Huawei is busy with 7 nm chips while Samsung is pumping out 2 nm.

China has knockoff x86 chips through Zhaoxin and China's Moore's thread GPUs are based off of stolen (and outdated) NVIDIA tech.

Up until a few years ago, Huawei's "custom OS" was just a copy paste of Android that they couldn't even be bothered to remove all of the references from.

Their technology is almost entirely stolen through copyright theft, and requires them to keep stealing new things just to keep about 2 generations behind.

i actually want china to build strong distinct brands the differentiate themselves from what is on the market. So much of what they sell is pirated from others .
