Using your sick days when you're not sick

I have a rep of always being at work and not using my sick days. i think I've used 3 sick days in 8 years.

Well, I'm sick of that and I don't want to get paid out anymore. I want to use all my days.

I just feel guilty calling out when I'm not sick.

Anyone else like that?

Guilty? Lol I can't remember the last time I called off when I was actually sick.

Granted if your local resets days January first....I'm not sure I'd wanna burn a day so soon in the year, but that's your biz.

We had a driver in our panel area canned after "calling in sick" and his name appearing in a local paper for a golf tournament in our area several years ago. Termination for dishonesty was upheld.

Always call in and say, "I'm using a sick day."

Did I ever feel guilty about burning a day of sick time? Never. Called in sick one time from a casino parking lot. lol. The only time I felt bad is if I had days left over at the end of the year that I didn't take.

Called in sick last day before vacation started from an airport. You could hear the planes in the background noise. They somehow got wind that I left that day on a plane. They actually sent someone from LP to the airport to try and find out my plane schedule. Tickets were in another name so they didn't have much luck. Had a great 3 week vacation. Came back home, they had been by my house and left all kind of notes on my door to contact them. Went into work on Monday, not a word was said to me. I consider sick days as mental health days.
