If that was the best they could do why wouldn't they call one back in 1 August. Remember they did have the strike authorization in their back pockets. If the "Master" is voted down it sure would be interesting to see who will be called back on the negotiating committees on both sides... Neither side wants any hint of a strike/work stoppage just before peak and the November elections, they would be at the table in a heartbeat to rehash the deal. This is my observation that with the economy booming, unemployment at a record low, minimum wage hovering around $10 per hour, our current inability to hire and retain new workers and Trump in office who despite your opinion on him or his politics won on a blue collar/american jobs first referendum it would not fare well for both negotiating parties if they act too arrogant to get their way. He will be on this issue like a chicken on a watermelon, neither of them wants the Feds to start looking at their dirty laundry and asking the wrong questions. Think about everybody's fear of a "closed shop"..If it was feasible UPS would of done it decades ago. Could you imagine the nightmare of replacing 250,000 union workers with the quality and quantity that is currently out there. What is the current attrition rate with our new hires anyway, most do not last a week if they are lucky enough to make it through orientation.
