Excellent article from Jeff Huber, but I suspect it comes too late to do much good. Notice how how Obama's rhetoric has been morphing since he got the nomination sewed up (I know you have:wink2:)? First he did he a backflip on the FISA bill, then he started back peddling on withdrawing troops from Iraq. My guess is that he will return from his overseas journey a changed man, talking about all the progress being made and the importance of staying the course lest we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. "Last throes" and all that. America will yawn and go back to talking about Britney, Brad and Angela. The real joke is on the folks who still labor under the illusion that the democrats and republicans offer two distinct political visions for the future of this country. The reality is that they are simply competing power structures who have more in common with professional sports teams, ie, they have different team symbols and star players that they use to generate enthusiasm in their fan base, but in the end it really doesn't matter who wins the election any more than it matters who wins the superbowl. You will still pay the same taxes to a government that enacts the same policies, enforces the same laws, and fights the same wars.
