If you violate the contract or UPS policy, they can and usually will issue you a warning letter. It is a letter sent to your house telling you what you did, what you violated and basically if you continue to do it, it can lead to further disciplinary action, up to and including discharge.
This is the first step to progressive discipline. If you continue to do what they gave you the warning letter for, you can then be suspended. Continue and you can be terminated. Suspension and termination must go through the hearing process first. A warning letter does not.
