Our part time employees are not given OT when they are required to work a 6th or 7th day, that was lost to a horrible decision in arbitration years ago. The first offer the company gave us would have given them that compensation, unfortunately the membership voted that offer down and the company refuses to put it back on the table. Correct, UPS offered to cover the pension shortfalls that have been coming out of our (FT) raises for the past 5 years which they calculated to total $2.41/hr by 2023. They stated that if we voted the supplement down on the first go around, they would not put that back on the table either. They have stuck to it so far. The membership is doing the best it can to get the word around but, our Executive Board has only spent one day standing outside our personnel gate to speak to the membership so far. We aren't pleased with their effort and specifically asked for a greater attempt to educate our people at Saturday's membership meeting. Our part timers will be key to getting the necessary participation and many of them either don't know what's at stake or don't care. When Hall shoved it down our throats 5 years ago, UPS' 3rd offer was their "last, best & final offer". They would not agree to use that terminology on this offer, so I don't believe the International would be operating in good faith if they forced this pitiful offer on us just yet.
