The locals recommending the membership to vote yes or no is such a broken system. The ones that tell you to vote yes are staying in line with the old gaurd or maybe believe it’s a good contract. The ones telling you to vote no do it to mess with the Hofficers and Hoffa. All locals are playing politics. The ones in the vote no camp seem to be less interested in securing our future than seating their future in a higher paid position. If everyone was doing their job, there would be no necessity to tell us how to vote on our future. The contract should sell it self. $41 Per hour is money that would attract people with benefits. The auxiliary to that is monstrous. Everyone overlooks that new money as quite a leap. Unfortunately the demise of this union is going to originate from two areas; TDUs vote no movement and the internal political mechanics at the IBt. The vote no has taken grass roots this time on social media. Mostly impart I believe due to the nature of there being many younger employees capabale of capturing audiences through their abilities to navigate social media. Why would any company give their best offer if they knew the teamster membership would vote no, regardless of the circumstances? It’s tiring to hear the union business agents sell a dead horse. It’s also tiring to hear a vote no movement that provides nothing but negativity with no offering of plausible solutions.
