When brown add hot water. Continue to cook and stir until sugar is dissolved. </p><p></p><p>Mix sugar, cream and vanilla in thick boiler. Cook on medium heat until begins to bubble. Add the browned sugar and butter. </p><p></p><p>Cool, stirring constantly until it forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water. Stir with spoon until cool enough to spread.
