When will UPS say you make too much an hour and change the hourly rate format or rate?
So you're saying that what the contract specifies is not a requirement? Not a requirement for you. You are exempt from the 30 minute break under the DOT short haul exemption. You never come close to working 12 hours. Not for package drivers. They fall under the DOT short haul exemption. Not required to take a 30 minute break before 8 hours on duty. The only caveat is that to qualify for the short haul exemption, a driver has to be released from work within 12 consecutive hours. So, if you work over 12 hours, not uncommon this time of year, you are required to take a 30 minute rest period before the 8th hour of on duty time.
