[QUOTE="wkmac, post: 199971, member: 2189"] Big, We live in an age where the media resorts to the sensational to get those ratings that allow them to charge a higher price per second to advertise. Even on our individual local news cast, how often do we see those good positive stories where someone did something to make a difference that made life better? Instead we see a constant parade of the dregs of society or the trainwreck of human mistakes because we love to see someone brought down and because we love the over the edge stuff. Why is Paris Hilton for example even a story at all or Britney Spears for that matter? Look at the explosion of cop and police chase shows or when some major city has one of those massive police chases and they patch in the live feed to the major networks and guess where we are all? Is there good coming from places like Iraq? Oh absolutely, no doubt about it because Americans have their faults and we make mistakes but overall when we come in contact with folks one on one and the other fella is down and out, what is the first thing the average America feels? Compassion. What's the next thought in their head? What can I do to help. Sad we don't live in a world where the TV's turn on to those good stories and the channel changers go into click overload to another station the moment an OJ type police chase hits the airways.
