As I am about to go work in the rain for hours this will keep me laughing all night. Thanks!!!!

Did the same for me too and thus the point. I'm betting the 2 of us weren't alone either.

:wink2:

However, if I'm the Iowa Chamber of Commerce not to mention the Iowa Dept. of Education......
:slap:

Someone's momma should be proud!

:wink2:I know I should laugh also ---we all need a little humour these days. Unfortunately this post made me reflect on "todays" generation. When we look back on the "Greatest Generation and the "Baby Boomers" than look at today ----probably why the country is heading south ---the give me generation ---food, education ,housing, health care ----let someone else pay for it !:sad-little:

When I was a young "whipper snapper", My ole crabby nieghbor used to sterotype my friends and I, as Juvenile Delinquints, eventhough we never bothered him except to retrieve a football or fresbie from his yard......I'm not ready to turn into that ole crabby nieghbor and blame our countries problem's on the younger generation.
Let's get real, look what "Today's Generation" and the "greatest generation" is leaving our young people.... debt, wars, super reccessions, free market willys, and more debt.
Today's Generation has to look in the mirror at ourselves, before we blame the countries southward trend on someone else.....or they just become a reflection of us.

It is this generation that is fighting two wars on foreign soil.
Whose wealth we spend today in the trillions.
Who we "support" with yellow ribbons and "thanks for your service".
And who will one day perhaps (or perhaps not) take care of my tired
and retired self.

:happy-very:I find it very amusing when the left use the military to try to make their point.
It is very much like BHO who while in campaign mode- made speech after speech about the "right" war and that we did not have enough troops there. He was so sure then --but now cannot make a decision to support the troops there. Of course it is more important today to campaign in New Jersey or Virginia than to make a decision!!
Also a very small % of the current generation proudly serves in the military -----the lazy, still living at home and feeding off of Mom and Dad that want to be taken care of by the gov from cradle to grave and expect everyone else to pay for it --is the bottom feeder generation I am referring to ! :sad-little:

Hmmmm. Island, I think you are directing that at me. Pray tell, however, what part of my post you find incorrect. Can you imagine in thirty years an Afganistan war veteran running for office and saying to the 30-something electorate, "It's time to gut Social Security. No way can we keep raising taxes." I don't think it's so far fetched. Nor would I be able to blame them. It is a tennant of those on the right that we are spending our childrens inheritence. What if our children simply decide to take it back?

I think it's time not to just blame the welfare people !
Thats an easy target.
(name me one civilized country, that doesn't have them ).
And actually, they get less on food stamps and government funds then the average UPS worker does.
You get tax free (goverment subsidized healthcare - tax free deduction, that must add to over $400 month).
Roads, Bridges, and Airports built , for the richer that have money to fly and drive.
Recreation facilities, that mostly only the "working people" have access to, like fitness centers, swimming pools, museums, national parks and camp grounds, etc.
Colleges and Universities for only people that can actually afford them.

But , we all know , Bush left every single US citizen with a national debt of $24.000 + per capita. (family of 4 owns $100.000).
And, yes, it's growing even more.

But, most of you, want tax cuts.
Isn't gonna happen.
You been living on the next generation cost, long enough.
And, I wouldn't be a bit surprised, if China just says no more money.
We want some payback now.

Wake up and smell the coffee !
Pay your share !

And, it's the "American Greed" that will make you collapse.
Kinda like, the Gold Rush, never ended.
No, one cares about the country. From the huge corperations, down to the individual. They care about thier own well being, and take as much as they can.

But, it will run out, just like the gold rush, did.

Most of you will hate this response.
But, what is "living the american dream" ?
Same as above: Get rich off others !

:happy-very:Klein,
There is no coffee to smell ---it has been taxed out of existence----
Federal tax takes 25 to 35 %
State tax takes 5 to 6 %
Sales tax takes 5to 9%
Property tax takes 15 to 20 %
Tolls take 2 to 3 %
car registration takes 1 to 2 %
Cap gains 15% soon to be 25%
Fed tax soon to be a high of 39.9% plus another 10% for Obama care.
Lets see why I am young and lazy ---If I bust my butt through college --get a great job that I work ten to twelve hours a day ---I may make a million dollars and be able to give the gov 70 to 80 % of it to the people who choose not to educate themselves nor work ----because I pay for them---I think I CHOOSE lazy !!!!! No incentive to be successful !!!

You're paying for the ones before you already.
What do you think the next generation will pay and think ?

You answerd the question yourself... that's another reason why it will collapse !

Didn't know the USA had a net tax of 70-80% of your income.
But, great to know ! :)

:happy-very:I believe you are suffering from some type of complex ---I am not referring to you ----why would I bother to do that -- I have stated my opinions and you and many others have stated theirs !!

But I can imagine in thirty years a Vet looking back and saying --"Thank God ---we threw the spending bums out of office --ran government on a strict budget like a private business or private citizen. Do not spend what you do not have. We were able to give all Americans --huge Tax reliefs which in our free system People worked and fufilled their lives providing opportunity for all . Everyone in society contributed to the benefit of all.
Not only are we debt free we have a "safety net " for the people truly in need. We have wakened the American spirit in our younger generation to educate themselves, work hard , take responsibility for their actions and enjoy a fufilled life without total govenment intervention. It was truly a turning point in 2009 when the American people stood up and demanded that the elected officials be accountable to us, serve us and not themselves and admit that EVERY government program was filled with fruad, corruption, mismanagement and always ran way, way way over budget. But we have changed all of that ---America remains today --Stong and Free-
Thank you bbsam for inspiring me to think such positive thought --30 yrs from today !!!!:wink2:

:happy-very:Klein,
Canada is no different ---look at fed tax --provincial tax---sales tax --property tax---car registration ---etc etc etc .

Far too many people do not realize what the politicians take out of our pockets ----and I am sure there are many other taxes and government fees that I have not mentioned.
I laugh when I hear some Amercans say "Great I got hundreds of dollars back from my tax return"
If they had to write out ONE check for all the taxes and fees they pay to the government each year ---there would be another revolution !!!

Well, then they better change this forcast, or 30 years won't do it !
(kinda neat to see, interesst on the national debt is 2% higher then welfare spending).

I do not have a complex! It really is all about me! Just who do you really think are the "fiscal conservatives"? It wasn't Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton, 43, and we agree not President Obama. Conservatives have shown their stripes--just liberals with different spending prioitiess--unless their state has a special "nationally vital" project. For further happy thoughts might I suggest any number of opium based products? We'll ease you back into reality.:wink2:

This thread is too serious for me, but I do know that Golden Corral is offering a free dinner to any Military Veteran (Vet) on November 13th.

Is my post value added to this thread??
