With demand for employees surging, FedEx ups incentives for Hub workers - Memphis Business Journal

As it’s often been noted, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an unprecedented, lasting e-commerce boom.

According to the Adobe Digital Economy Index, consumers spent $121 billion online in the first two months of the new year, a 34% year-over-year increase, and digital sales are expected to total between $850 billion and $930 billion in 2021.

The digital landscape’s rise has been a boon for FedEx. Yet, the e-commerce surge that’s fueled the delivery giant has also left it in need of more employees, at a time when other companies — like rivals Amazon and UPS — are also seeking more labor.

So, to lure new workers to its Memphis World Hub, FedEx has implemented several new initiatives.
