Does anyone know if you lose your benefits while your on worker’s compensation?

Was in accident in truck. Someone ran into back of me and just had my second spinal fusion surgery

Now I being told my benefits are done I have to start paying for cobra.

Hopefully you are getting better.

From what I remember, they only cancel when it's deemed by your or their doc that you can return to work and you choose not to.

I haven't had to use it, maybe someone might chime in for you.

Depends where you are and how long you've been out. In the West your benefits stop after a year.

Now I being told my benefits are done I have to start paying for cobra.

I’m in the WEST, was recently injured, went 6 weeks without a punch on workers comp and didn’t miss any insurance coverage days. I text with my stew all the time though so he’s usually on top of things for us; the guys who actively participate.

I think they pay our health care for a year if you're on comp but they only pay into your pension for 6 months

You need a lawyer ASAP. Probably have to go on Long Term Disability at this point.

Out west you lose insurance after a year and WC monthly payments after 2 years. Unfortunately they’re correct, you need to either pay a cobra or get medical. I know it’s BS but it is the truth.

They are worth every penny when dealing with the brown injury monster. Keep all records. Company is not your friend. As long as you keep that mentality they won’t surprise.

We had a guy out for 4 years while undergoing 2 different back surgeries. He came back and worked his last 2 years and retired with his 30 in.
