workers comp

I am in the process of a workers comp settlement(buyout). UPS will give me a check for half the settlement, the other half will go into a annuity for 30 years which pays annually. They say that if i don't agree that they will not settle, has anyone else gone through this?

I have a meeting on Monday for a settlement with my lawyer and ups lawyer and I have never heard of anything like that. Once you settle you have no job or ties with the company nor liberty mutual. The only thing that you put back is masa money, ( medical set aside) for future medical expenses. But you get it all up front.
