UPS today announced Laura Lane has been promoted to Chief Corporate Affairs and Communications Officer. Lane will join UPS’s Executive Leadership Team and report directly to CEO Carol Tomé. She will oversee Public Policy and Government Affairs, Public Relations, Employee Communications, and the UPS Foundation.

UPS driver says trucks without A/C create dangerous conditions – NBC 12

Delivering packages is something local UPS truck driver James Trusty enjoys doing day in and day out.

“UPS has provided me, my family and everyone I know who works there with a great life,” Trusty said.

But Trusty says many of those days spent driving in record-breaking heat during the summer can be brutal, especially when the truck he drives has no air conditioning.

“The front of the truck has no relief, no air conditioning, no cool air and no way to really cool off,” Trusty said.

SCAM ALERT: New Jersey UPS driver identified odd Eau Claire package, cash scam averted – News 8000

A UPS driver in Newark, New Jersey, questioned an odd package sent from Eau Claire, which turned out to be a part of a cash scam.

According to a post on the Eau Claire Police Department’s Facebook page, the driver identified the odd package and worked with Eau Claire authorities to return the funds. The victim was tricked into thinking a relative was in jail and wouldn’t be released until she sent $8400 in cash.

5 UPS employees arrested, accused of stealing guns from packages – Boston 25

Sheriff’s deputies in South Carolina arrested five UPS employees last week on suspicion of stealing guns out of packages at the company’s hub in West Columbia.

Officials with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said Byron Burke, 19, Jalen Green, 19, Dishon Kinney, 18, Kenyon Peters, 18, and Tre’von Williams, 19, face charges of breach of trust. Deputies said Kinney and Peters were also charged with criminal conspiracy.

Authorities said they were called by members of UPS’ security team after the shipping company realized guns were being stolen from incoming trucks.

Police investigating work-related death at UPS facility near Phoenix Sky Harbor – ABC 15

Phoenix police are investigating a work-related death at the UPS facility near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s shipping area.

Officers were called to the area around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday for reports of an injured person.

Officials say the victim, identified as 50-year-old Scott Morris, was pinned between a loading dock and tractor trailer.
